The Manchester United winger Antony will postpone his return to the team as he investigates the assault claims made against him. United accepts the accusations and rejects any form of abuse or violence.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old is currently under investigation by both Brazilian and Manchester police. He was not selected for the nation’s World Cup qualifying squad.
The claims made against Antony are acknowledged by Manchester United, according to their statement. He will postpone his return until further notice so that he can respond to the accusations.
Manchester UTD statement on Antony: “Man Utd acknowledges the allegations made against Antony. He will delay his return until further notice in order to address the allegation’s”.
“As a club we condemn acts of violence and abuse”.
Antony had his say as well, he added: “I have agreed with United to take a period of absence while I address the allegations made against me.”
“This was mutual decision”.
“I want to reiterate my innocence of the things I have been accused of, I will fully cooperate
with the police”.
